Supported files and limits

The file types, sizes, lengths, and counts Layerpath accepts when you create a project or add a step in the editor, and the files it can't use.

Creating a project

These limits apply when you create a project with Create with Agent. Start with media or a link also lists them under the upload box.

  • Screenshots and videos can go in the same project, from your device, your library, or both.
  • A Loom link can't be combined with screenshots, videos, or library media.
  • Text you dictate into the prompt isn't held to the 500-word limit.

Adding a step in the editor

Insert > Add step adds screenshots to a walkthrough you've already made. With Upload from device:

FormatsSizeCount
PNG, JPG, JPEGUp to 15 MB eachUp to 20 at a time

Videos from your device can't be added as steps. The app says "Videos are only supported when creating a new project."

What isn't supported

  • Other image types, such as GIF, WebP, SVG, and HEIC.
  • PDF, Word, and PowerPoint files.
  • Audio files.
  • Links to videos on other sites. Only Loom links work.

When a file isn't supported, the app says "Unsupported file type. Use PNG, JPG, JPEG images or MP4, WEBM, MOV, MKV videos."
