Where you can use Agent

Compare Layerpath Agent in the app, Slack, ChatGPT, Claude, and MCP assistants, from what each one takes in to where voiceover works and what only the app does.

How Agent works across places

Layerpath Agent makes and edits walkthroughs in the Layerpath app, in Slack, ChatGPT, and Claude, and through an MCP server. You give it screenshots, a recording, or a Loom link, say what the walkthrough should teach, and ask for changes in your own words. Wherever you make it, the walkthrough is saved in your Layerpath workspace.

To start:

  • In the Layerpath app, select Create with Agent on Home, or Agent in the editor.
  • In Slack, mention @Layerpath in a channel it's been added to, or message it directly. See Slack.
  • In ChatGPT, add the Layerpath plugin to ChatGPT. See ChatGPT.
  • In Claude, connect Layerpath to Claude. See Claude.
  • In an MCP assistant, such as Claude Code or Codex, add the Layerpath MCP server. See MCP server.

  • Screenshots can be PNG or JPEG files up to 15 MB each, and recordings up to 200 MB and 10 minutes. Loom and YouTube videos can be up to 10 minutes, and YouTube videos can be public or unlisted.
  • In Claude, add files in Layerpath's upload box. Files attached to the Claude chat don't reach Layerpath.
  • When Agent translates a walkthrough, the steps, callouts, and voiceover change together.
  • Agent blurs names and email addresses. Check each step for other private details before you share it.

What only the Layerpath app can do

Some work happens only in the Layerpath app:

  • Record your screen with the Chrome extension.
  • Set up Brand memory. Walkthroughs made in every place use your Brand memory for your logo, colors, and tone, when it's set up.
  • See analytics for your walkthroughs.
  • Manage members, folders, and workspace settings.

Plans and access for Agent

  • Owners, Admins, and Editors can make walkthroughs with Agent. Viewers can't.
  • In Slack, an Owner or Admin adds Layerpath once. After that, full members of your Slack workspace can use it.
  • New walkthroughs made in Slack, ChatGPT, Claude, or an MCP assistant publish at a share link anyone with the link can open. You can unpublish or delete them in Layerpath.
  • Walkthroughs made in Slack, ChatGPT, and Claude, or through MCP, are free until December 31, 2026, under our fair use policy.
  • In the app, adding voiceover while you create a project needs a paid plan.
