See and export leads
Add a form to the intro or outro of a walkthrough, then see who filled it in on the walkthrough's Leads tab and download the list as a CSV file.
Collect leads with a form
A form on a walkthrough's intro or outro asks viewers for details, such as their name and email. When a viewer sends the form, Layerpath saves it as a lead.
To add a form:
- Open the walkthrough in the editor.
- Select the intro or outro step.
- Select the button on that step. You'll see its toolbar.
- Select Switch to form. You'll see a form in place of the button.
Forms are on paid plans. On Free, Switch to form shows "Forms are available on paid plans." To choose the form's fields, see Intro and outro. To turn the form back into a button, select the form, then Switch to button.
Leads come in once viewers send the form on the published walkthrough.
See your leads
To see a walkthrough's leads:
- Open the project. If the editor opens, select Preview.
- Select Analytics at the top.
- Select the Leads tab. You'll see one row for each lead.
| Column | What it holds |
|---|---|
| First name, Last name, Email, Phone | What the viewer entered in those fields. |
| Role | The option the viewer picked in the form's dropdown, whatever the dropdown asks. |
| Feedback | The viewer's answer to a feedback field, on forms that have one. |
| OS, Device, Country | The viewer's operating system, device, and country, which Layerpath records with the lead. Country shows "Others" when Layerpath can't tell where the viewer is. |
Export leads as a CSV file
On a walkthrough's Leads tab, select Export csv. Your browser opens or downloads a CSV file with every lead for that walkthrough, including when each one came in and the viewer's browser.
What Layerpath stores with a lead
Each lead holds the fields in the table above, the date and time the viewer sent the form, and their browser. Leads are kept with their walkthrough, so there's no single list of every lead in the workspace. Workspace Insights shows the Lead generation rate and the project with the Most leads generated.
Limits
- Forms are on paid plans.
- Layerpath keeps one lead per visit. If a viewer sends the form again in the same visit, their first answers stay.
- Leads stay in Layerpath. To use them in another tool, export them as a CSV file.
- Deleting a project deletes its leads too, so export them first if you need them.
