Roles and permissions

What Owners, Admins, Editors, and Viewers can do in a Layerpath workspace, from settings, members, and billing to projects, folders, and Brand memory.

The four roles

  • Owner: has full access to the workspace, and is the only role that can change other members' roles.
  • Admin: has full access to the workspace, except changing roles.
  • Editor: can create and edit projects. Editors don't see Settings.
  • Viewer: has view-only access. Viewers don't see Settings or Brand memory.

If you're a Viewer and need to create or edit, ask your workspace's Owner to change your role. Upgrading the plan doesn't change anyone's role.

Change a role

Only the Owner can change roles, and the Owner's own role can't be changed.

To change a member's role:

  1. Go to Settings > Members.
  2. Find the member on the Members tab.
  3. In the Role column, choose Admin, Editor, or Viewer. You'll see "Role updated".
